This forum seems to have fallen into complete disuse. I'm trying to work out why.

Do people not PvP nowadays? No arena teams or anything? Or do people just not talk about it?

I admit, I was never very good at pvp, but I used to like to have a go.

I can remember the days where me and Ozi would bash Alterac Valley for something to do to pass the time. As I'm starting to play a bit more, although only very slightly, would be nice to get some pvp going again, maybe some small premade groups.

Would people be interested in this?

i know, for me at least, that pvp has become horribly boring. it's all about getting more resiliance gear as you simply can't survive without the 1k+ resili and even then you don't live long if a you get focused on by a minorly better geared player.

well i'm currently having too much fun with my Blood tank, but i'm only a few levels from 80, I am considering doing some arena at 80, as since the launch of the damn arena system i've wanted to do it, but never did.

other then that outdoor pvp is as dead as hell, blame BG's. those need to close in the weekends, so world pvp goes bananas again. AV is a snorefest as people solo Drekthar with tier 9000 these days.

I'm with Ozi, people just die too fast to make it fun really in bgs or arenas.
On my other server we have some world pvp sometimes ( maybe ironic cause its not a pvp server!) But that consists more of a group of 5-8 hordes entering sw mostly and trying to hold an area like Mage Tower or the AH as long as possible. One time it was fun though, they were holding the sw AH for half hour or so since they had a pretty good geared team in there and the door was kinda a choke point wich wasnt easy to get their healers down. So it was like an half hour fight between allys and them.

But if anyone is up for world pvp then I'm in. I think that and wsg are the only pvp things that can still be entertaining to me atleast

I hope the massive healthpools bring back some of the more classic fights from vanilla, I remember clashing with a shaman for over 10 minutes!

i would advise against arenas if you are thinking about it for your DK, death knights in arena just don't work aswell as the other classes, there's no really good setups in 2s or 3s for them, even 5s are a bit hit and miss.

DKs in bgs however are a lot of fun!

I currently do a lot of pvp on my dk now, it's primarily what it's there for as an escape from the norm, it's also the same reason that i faction changed him, it's a completely different ball game pvp wise!

So i should be seeing you lot on the battlefield eh..?

Survivability is the problem then eh?

I have to admit, I've not done any pvp for ages. I was rubbish myself anyway

But a few people together capping or defending a base in AV and AB used to be fun.

Resilience did kinda kill off pvp though because as you said unless you have like a million resilience you just get owned. It does suck.

Maybe in Cata we could get some organised BG's going? I know this has been tried in the past with Omnia several times but with the added incentive now of competitive ratings and better gear it could add to the fun. Plus adding to guild achievements? Maybe there is a higher chance of success by using the in game callender rather than trying to organise things on this forum as how it was done in the past?

If it was started from the beginning there wouldn't be such a gap in gear with everyone else. Arena is very precise in needing the right gear and composition, this will be less so in BG's. I think the idea of PvP in Cata was to make everyone generally less killable.

Is anyone interested in taking it super serious? If so we could nominate someone to lead/organise it properly along with support from guild resources (PvP enchants/gems etc).

i'd be up for trying it for fun at first. i never know how long i keep interest in serious fighting
